Often regarded as a unifying concept for all living organisms, the cell theory details three basic statements explaining how all of us are related through the tiny structures that make up who we are. The statements are: 

1. All organisms are made from cells or the products of cells.

2. All cells arise from pre-existing cells. 

3. All cells contain genetic material. 

We know that these three statements are true as there is  logcial reasoning and link between each of them. Firstly, knowing that all cell are made from cells or the products of cells must then simmer down to the fact that there must have been pre-existing cells for this to be true. From there, you can deduce that there must be some genetic material involved so that each cell knows how to make new cells, hence fulfilling the previous two statements. The cell theory is quite logical and it is thanks to this that it is easier to remember. 

It is important to know and understand the cell theory whilst learning cytology as it the foundation of the topic. Knowing the cell theory explains how they work together to keep all of us functioning in the best possible condition!
